A Taste Of Phillips, October 19-21

The 5th Annual “Taste of Phillips” brings together visual and spoken word artists, poets, musicians and community actors to showcase the talent and hope of our community. The art gallery and studio at St. Paul’s Lutheran will showcase both professional and amateur artists from the community, and allow for hands on activities for children and adults. On Friday, October 19 at 7 pm, a Poetry/Spoken Word/Music open mike kicks off at 7 pm. Saturday, October 20, from 10 am to noon will include a dedication of murals and mosaic flower planters, a walking tour of art in the neighborhood, a joint performance by Young Dance and St. Paul’s “Semilla Youth”, and delicious snacks. On Sunday, October 21, there will be a Music Festival at 3:00 pm, followed by a “Two Cultures Supper” (Scandinavian & Mexican). All events are free and open to the public (there will be a free-will offering at the Music Festival). Artists and poets/musicians interested in being a part of “A Taste of Phillips”, should contact Pr. Patrick at phcreate@gmail.com

This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the State’s arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, and in part, by appropriations from the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the State’s general fund, and its arts and cultural heritage fund that was created by a vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
