PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH + FAMILIES

Let’s Read Drop in

Wednesdays, 4-7 pm

Saturday/Sundays 1-5 pm

Free in-person reading support for K-5 students. Students and trained volunteer tutors meet weekly one-on-one to work on grade level reading skills.

Connect & Play

Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 pm

For children of all ages and their caregivers. Connect with your child during this drop-in program exploring early literacy activities.  A licensed Family Educator from Way to Grow will provide support and resources for parents and caregivers.  

African Drumming and Dance

Saturday, July 19th, 1-1:45 pm

Live performance of African drumming and dancing in costume! Performance ends with the audience being invited to participate.

Llamas at the Library

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2:30-5 pm

Lounge and learn with the laid-back Carlson’s Lloveable Llamas at the library! Option to linger longer with library-led activities offering limitless llama-themed fun for all!

PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS

Coffee & Conversation 

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, 12:30-2 PM

Join Franklin Library staff for free coffee & conversations with neighbors. 

Craft Club
Every 1st and 3rd Friday, 3-5 PM
For adults 18 and up. Craft and create with your library community. All skill levels welcome. Crafts will focus on knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand-sewing and papercrafts. Materials provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own projects or start something new. 

Bike Fix-it Clinic

Monday, July 14th, 2-4 pm

Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota (BikeMN) will be providing free bike tune-ups and safety checks by certified mechanics. There will be free safety supplies and bottles while supplies last. First come first serve!  

HIV Testing with Red Door Clinic
Thursday, July 11th, 12-2 PM
Drop in and meet with Red Door Clinic for free, private Rapid HIV testing. Learn about HIV prevention and care, get help connecting to treatment and medical services, and pick up harm reduction supplies. No registration required. Collaborator: Red Door Clinic

HIV/STD Testing and Wound Care
Friday, July 25th, 10 AM-12 PM
Drop in and for free HIV/STD testing from Native American Community Clinic and wound care provided by the U of M’s Mobile Health Care Initiative. No registration required.  

Sisters Camelot Food Share

Thursday, July 31, 2:30-3:30 pm

Stop by for free produce and organic groceries provided by Sisters Camelot. While supplies last.
