The man behind the counter was a familiar brown-complected Muslim who anticipated my request for a newspaper. The headline screamed: “Paris Under Siege!” The awkward moment was resolved through eye contact. “What is wrong with this crazy world?” he implored. “You are not the cause of it and neither am I” was my answer.
