Word Image Power

By Patrick Cabello Hansel

How do we communicate? How do we tell the stories that are the deepest and most important? For millennia, human beings have painted, sung, written, sculpted and otherwise expressing their longings and their bewilderment. Many times, we have done several of these at the same time.

As part of April”'s National Poetry Month, the Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts at St. Paul”'s Lutheran is sponsoring a month-long exploration of the connection between the visual and the written called “Word/Image/Power”. Poets and writers from Phillips and the region will explore their vision of who we are and what we see. Look for pop-up poetry and art at different sites in the community. Participate in weekly art creation every Wednesday night from 6:30-8:30 at St. Paul”'s studio at 2742 15th Ave S. And participate in a big open mic/art exhibit on April 29, from 7 until?? Writers and artists of any level are invited to be a part of it. For more information, call 612-724-3862 or e-mail stpaulscreate@gmail.com.
