CHANGE IS COMING Library hours and services are expected to expand soon in response to the decrease of COVID in the community. In this rapidly changing environment, you can find the most recent and reliable information on the library website, www.hclib.org.  JUNETEENTH The library is hosting many online activities to celebrate Juneteenth. Million Artist Movement is helping the community to connect with each other and to reflect on Juneteenth themes, stories and dreams. There are three activities to choose from: making quilt squares, dance, and storytelling. Kits will be available to pick up ahead of time at Hosmer Library for making quilt squares. All information listed here is accurate as of April 16, 2021. ON THE AVENUE BY TUFAWON PRESENTED BY FRANKLIN LIBRARY Local artist Tufawon has dropped a tune about Philip”™s own Franklin Avenue. Franklin Library presents the video on the library”™s YouTube channel. Check it out. It”™s a good representation of the neighborhood.  By CARZ NELSON  For updated information on Hennepin County Library services during the Coronavirus Pandemic, visit www.hclib.org. All information is accurate as of January 15 2021.  PROGRAMS FOR BLACK HISTORY MONTH  This February HCLib is hosting virtual programs for Black history month, in partnership with the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum & Gallery (MAAHMG). In addition to films that address the arts in social justice movements, there will be panels with community leaders.  LIBRARY UPDATES:  "Reading" by Jessie Merriam East Lake Library Grab&Go  East Lake Library, located at 2727 E. Lake St., reopened on December 27. The building was damaged during the uprising and had been closed for rehab and repair.
